Our Employer Program

Recruitment, hiring, and retention in school mental health have been challenging for some time, worsened by the COVID-19 pandemic. Community-Based Organizations and school systems have experienced increased turnover, creating gaps in care and budget shortfalls. The cost of staff attrition is significant.

The MOMENTUM Residency was designed, in part, to improve the long-term retention of clinicians in school-based work. Our core program provides residents with training designed to help them successfully navigate the challenges of working in a school community and builds clinician resiliency through self-reflective and growth-centered practices.

Why Should you Choose the MOMENTUM Residency?

  • The Surgeon General has declared a Youth Mental Health Crisis and schools are tasked with addressing the crisis.
  • There is a clinician shortage in schools and we must address its root causes such as moral injury, burnout, and lack of support.
  • Early career clinicians require practical and specialized training in school mental health and schools need support to provide the appropriate training to make the roles sustainable.

Invest in a MOMENTUM Resident

We will be accepting applications for our employer program again in the Fall of 2024. Benefits include:

  • Access to pre-vetted clinicians: We take some of the work out of your recruitment and hiring process. Residents undergo a rigorous application and interview process before being accepted into MOMENTUM. Only those invited to join the program are eligible to interview for a placement with one of our employers.
  • Additional supervision support: Residents will have additional individual and group supervision from expert practitioners who guide them through the complexities of school mental health and gain hours towards fulfilling licensure requirements.
  • Continuing Education Credit: Residents will receive CEU credits that support license renewal
  • Professional development: Do you have an existing employee who could benefit from the program? MOMENTUM can support staff retention by building competency and skill through our cohort model.
