Washington, DC – October 18, 2024 – The MOMENTUM Residency is pleased to announce the appointment of Chauncey Brown as its new Recruitment and Operations Fellow from Ed Pioneers. With over 12 years of experience championing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) across education, nonprofit leadership, and public service, Chauncey is deeply committed to creating environments that foster success for all students.
Chauncey’s career began in Washington, DC, where she served as a kindergarten teacher and instructional coach with Teach for America. Her work in both charter and public schools deepened her belief in the power of inclusive spaces to promote student achievement. In 2024, Chauncey earned an Ed.M. in Education Policy and Analysis from Harvard’s Graduate School of Education, where she was an Equity and Inclusion Fellow. She also collaborated with Boston Public Schools and the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to advance equity in urban education.
As she joins The MOMENTUM Residency, Chauncey will play a critical role in furthering the organization’s mission: to equip school clinicians with the knowledge, support, and strategies necessary to ensure students have equitable access to high-quality, culturally nuanced, and integrated mental health and wellness services. “I am thrilled to join MOMENTUM and contribute to a strategic vision that will expand our impact,” Chauncey shared. “Together, we’ll empower our residents with the tools to create environments where every child can succeed.”
